On October 22, 2025 Early Childhood Wonder Academy got to experience what it was like to be a farmer for the day. There were animals like cows, donkeys, ducks, bunnies, and also hay. The past two weeks consisted of learning about different animals, so on the last day the teachers decided to bring the learning to life.
We asked Carolina Murrilo, a PK4 teacher, the reason behind the farm day and she explained that they spend a week or two learning about a specific theme in the classroom and then let the kids experience it in real life. She also shared that they don’t want learning to be talked about but experienced.
“The goal was to provide a comprehensive learning experience beyond classroom discussions, allowing students to interact with live animals such as cows, donkeys, and ducks, and to handle real hay.” Murrilo stated.
When we asked PK4 kids about the experience, they mentioned how: they learned that they loved seeing real hay and being able to watch the animals eat it. The scholars also said, being able to see a cow in real life and being able to pet all the animals was fun. It wasn’t just rewarding to the children but also to the teachers. They were able to see the kids handle the animals carefully and point out the things they learned in the classroom.
