The week of December 4th to the 8th marks two wins for the Varsity Lions basketball team. In the first win, Tuesday, December 5th, the Lions faced Holy Cross and won with a close score of 46 to 43. In the second game on Thursday, December 7th, the OS Lions beat the Temple Lions with a score of 67 to 43.

On Tuesday, the Lions played a harsh game against Holy Cross filled with emotional cheers and spirited screams. Holy Cross came with an aggressive offense and defense for a chance to win, but the Lions overcame this and won the game. Ethan Pendergast fractured his finger after giving it his all and being pushed by the other team.

Caden Tucker, 10th grade, said, “Personally, I love playing basketball because of the friendships you can gain from it, and it helps calm me down.”

Even though the Lions were up against a harsh component, they pushed through and made it count by winning.

The Second win for the OS Liones this week was against Temple. Dominic Ardolina defended his side and scored multiple points for his team. Temple played well and scored on their free throws, but in the end were no match for the OS Lions.

Dominic Ardolina, sophomore, expressed, “I love the competitiveness of the game and it motivates me to do better.”

With two wins in one week, the Lions get better and better as they train and progress; with only two games left in the season, the Lions only have two more chances for wins before they prepare for the staff vs. scholars game.
