Team morale can boost a team to their furthest. Pushing your team to their limits can lead you to win a game, but struggle can be found when no fans are apparent in the stands. Yesterday, during the final girls varsity volleyball game, the stands of Westview Baptist Church were full of One School scholars supporting each other. The most prominent group of people there was the self named, ‘Boom Squad.’ The name was fitting, as for every single point the OS Lions scored, the Boom Squad would scream, ‘Boom!’ Asking the reason for this, Dominic Ardolina, a prominent member of the Boom Squad, said, “We needed to find a way to cheer for our volleyball team because the atmosphere in the gym was dead.” This cheering brought energy to the Lions team and this led to the Lions to beat the second best team in the league 3-0. After one of the most intense and high energy games of the Lions’ season, the Boom Squad brought the boom to the final and toughest game of the season.
