In a game that displayed teamwork and passion, One School beat Space Coast in the fifth set, 3-2. Coming out of a loss at home last week, the team was determined to gain a win. Playing and losing the first set 16-25, Coach Elliot knew something needed to be changed. He adjusted the lineup, and the team played and fought hard but ended up losing the second set to a close, 22-25. The team regrouped, realized they could beat this team, and started playing as one.
They knew they had the skills and ability to win. The third set approached, and they won by a landslide. The score came out to 9-25, and the Lions were just getting started. In the fourth set, Kyla Worthington #11, had multiple beautiful serves in a row that Space Coast just could not receive. After gaining the serve back, Keegan Crandall, #33, had 15 perfect serves in a row. The last set only went to 15 points, but this was no problem for the OS Lions. They knew that if they won this set, they would win their first game of the season, and that pushed #22, Avery Stepan, to get four aces in a row to win the game. This was their first win of the season for the Girls Varsity Volleyball team, playing against Space Coast’s team.
This game displayed teamwork and love for the sport, and showed onlookers and parents that their bond is stronger than before. This game may have just been the start of a season, but the Lions are ready to fight.
