“I want to do something wonderful, Laurie , something that won’t be forgotten when I die.” said Avery Stephan, 11th grade. Last weekend, One School presented Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. The cast performed three shows in two nights, opening night Friday, Saturday 1pm and a Saturday evening at 7pm. “This show is a great addition to the One School catalog, it’s a classic,” said Stephan. “This is one of my favorite novels of all time. I felt like every character was perfectly cast and they did justice to the original. It made me laugh and cry, and I left feeling supremely satisfied.” said Ms. Tiansay, staff.

When asked about her contribution to Little Woman, Camila Concepcion, 10th grade said.“Stage managing for the first time was a wonderful experience because I learned new things and bonded with many people I didn’t know before. The theater class is really fun and interesting and I love the teacher here; she’s so awesome and very understanding.” The costumes for Little Woman clearly showed the time period as well as home clearly throughout every little detail was executed. 

This cast did something a little different. They switched cast for different performances. The Orchard House Cast performed the 7pm shows both days, while Alcott Concord Cast performed the 1pm show. “It was definitely a little bit more work, because you had to memorize the two different parts. But I thought iit really helped because then everyone had a big part, even if it was only in one show.” reminisced Eliana Koestner, ninth grade. “It was nice to have someone with the same part as us so we could practice together. Plus we helped each other change backstage for quick changes. It felt like we were not alone in our roles with our counterpart.” said Chloe Romaniello, 12th grade.
